ABSTRACT

The estimates of probability and of impact scores for a given risk are necessarily subjective, but one may well have a fairly good idea which risks are higher than others, and so one can adjust the numerical values accordingly to at least make a realistic ranking order. If the accuracy of the science content of a journal is not sustained, then the reputation of the journal would be damaged. If the accuracy of the scientific data underpinning the science content of a journal is not sustained, then the reputation of the journal would be damaged. Poor production quality of the published articles would lead to readers, authors and subscribers being discontented, leading to financial losses. The marketing, or the web presence and the availability of the journal titles, is inadequate, thus leading to a reduction in the number of articles submitted to the journal, destabilising the readership and the subscriber base.
