ABSTRACT
Statistical thermodynamics is a branch of knowledge that has its own postulates and techniques. We do not attempt to give here even an introduction to the field. In this chapter, we elaborate on the ideas presented by T. H. Hill [1] with the direct purpose of giving a molecular justification to equations of state and excess Gibbs energy models used in practical work.
