When the co-domain of one function is the domain of another function you can combine the two functions in the way indicated by Figure 10.1.
In Figure 10.1, b = f(a) and c = g(b). The composite function is the function that maps a from the set A directly to c in the set C. These ideas are set up more formally in Section 10.2.
