ABSTRACT

The form of contract will usually take precedence over the other contract documents. The contract drawings may include copies of the drawings sent to the contractor with the invitation to tender, together with those drawings that have been used in the preparation of either the bill of quantities or specification. The principal contractor is responsible for preparing a master programme showing when the works will be carried out during the contract period. If there is an agreement to a change in the completion date because of an extension of time, then the principal contractor should provide the amendments and revisions to the programme, usually within fourteen days. The schedule is not annexed to the contract; however, the architect or engineer must ensure that the information is released to the principal contractor in accordance with that agreed in the information release schedule.
