ABSTRACT

The articles of agreement precede the conditions of contract and they include information that must be completed for a particular contract. The articles define the various persons referred to in the contract and they describe the procedure to be followed should a dispute arise between the employer and the principal contractor. The appendix to each form of contract provides a considerable amount of detailed information about the contract that is of particular importance to the project. Where disputes or differences of opinion occur between the employer and the principal contractor, the parties agree to attempt to settle the matter first of all, usually through adjudication. The attestation page is for the various parties to sign the contract and for the signatures to be witnessed. The signatories must have the necessary authority to sign for this purpose to provide validity to the contract.
