ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the principles and techniques that will help to create informative, successful visual presentations. It outlines the key concepts and ideas to create a narrative flow. Communication of a specific message with visual presentations requires understanding the intent of the presentation and the intended audience, as well as visual design principles. The chapter aims to integrate visual design principles into effective presentation layout to engage the audience. Outlining key concepts and ideas that are being presented will help in narrowing down the amount of information on each slide. Simplicity and brevity are an essential. Key visual design principles, information design methodology, and technical issues must be considered and integrated. Complex information needs to be made clear to the audience. The purpose of a narrative flow is to allow for focus, sequence, organization, and connections within the information being presented to the audience.
