ABSTRACT

Information design, a subset of graphic design, can make a form more effective. It is an important aspect for developing a form for web or print use. This chapter explores how to integrate principles of design and interaction into digital form design. It aims to apply design principles for effective form design. The chapter seeks to integrate grids, typography, and interaction elements. It helps to understand key elements of form content. A Portable Document Format (PDF) form makes it easier for the user to fill in the necessary information in the document without having to print it. It can then be submitted electronically by email or other file sharing methods. All forms should have an objective to achieve by gathering information through user input. PDF forms can integrate a variety of interactive elements: Radio buttons should be used when allowing only one option to select from a list of choices.
