ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of some of V-Ray's most useful rendering parameters and shows how to get the best out of them in a real production environment. As previously stated, to access V-Ray tools and parameters, the V-Ray renderer needs to be loaded first. To ensure that the V-Ray renderer is automatically loaded at start-up of 3ds Max, click on the Customize main toolbar and select the Custom UI and Defaults Switcher option from the drop-down list. The V-Ray function overrides the region render from 3Ds Max. The dialogue allows users to show the history of all renders, save them, remove them, etc. To begin saving the images into the Render history dialogue, first click on the Historysettings button, to bring up the Render history settings dialogue. The V-ray raw image file can only be opened inside 3ds Max.
