ABSTRACT

The directions for creating a bipedal skinnable arm rig with IK/FK blending between each dual control arms is listed. This process includes guidance for proper joint placement and orientation and the construction of an arm control system using IK handles, NURBS controllers, constraints, custom attributes, Set Driven Key, and rotation order. In addition, a method of building the hand skeleton with finger articulation and control is presented. Furthermore, a discussion of wings is included, which establishes the similarities and differences of the various types of wings and their relationship to the arm rig.
