Minimally invasive access techniques, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy have yet to be widely adopted by trauma surgeons. However, selective indications for the use of these techniques are emerging rapidly in both adult and paediatric fields, especially in post-operative surveillance after non-operative management (NOM).
