ABSTRACT
In the emergency room (ER), traditionally, a series of conventional x-rays were performed. Today, examination of the c-spine is replaced by computed tomography (CT). Anteroposterior (AP) imaging of the thorax and pelvis are, while still widely available and used, increasingly replaced by trauma CT. Supine chest and pelvic x-rays have a relatively low sensitivity for injuries, and clinical examination combined with CT provides a more accurate diagnosis.
