ABSTRACT
Damage control has as its objective, delay in imposition of additional surgical stress at a moment of physiological frailty. 1 The goal is to focus on the body physiology, and align the objectives of the surgical intervention (specifically to stop bleeding and control contamination), with the resuscitation objectives as an overarching damage control principle.
