ABSTRACT
This chapter is a question and answer style article that contains past FRCA paper examples related to neurosurgery, neuroradiology and neurocritical care. It also guides trainees on the most effective manner in which to approach these questions. The discussion covers the following: the innervation of the anterior abdominal wall; In which types of surgery would a transversus abdominus plane (TAP) block be used and what are the potential benefits; how trainee would perform a TAP block; and the specific complications of a TAP block.
