ABSTRACT

This chapter depicts the network environment and system parameters along with the new downlink (DL) subframe structure of the proposed models (static resource assignment (SRA) and dynamic resource assignment (DRA)). It provides extensive analysis of the DL subframe parts in an interference environment. The chapter discusses resource assignment scenario and provides the algorithm steps of the proposed models. It presents the design, modeling, network scenarios, and system parameters, as well as the metrics that are used to assess the performance of the novel algorithms SRA fractional frequency reuse (FFR) and DRA FFR. The considered network based on the proposed algorithms is a collection of base stations deployed adjacent to each other to form a cellular system of two tiers. In network deployment, the data rate that a base station can transmit depends on the distribution and the types of users in the cell coverage area, as well as their modulations.
