ABSTRACT

This chapter explains how to perform a self-assessment. This type of assessment is used by organizations who follows the assessment process but do not require or want to adhere to the more rigid demands of ensuring evidence and closely following all approvals. It is necessary to determine the need for an assessment of project management (PM) processes. The basic purpose of process assessment is to understand and assess the processes implemented within project management methodology. As this is a self-assessment, the class of assessment is not needed. Work Product Management process attribute is a measure of the extent to which the work products produced by the process are appropriately managed. When collecting data, the data needs to be sufficient to provide coverage of the organization and process scope for the assessment.
