ABSTRACT

Communication is one of the most relevant and complex activities for the success of a project. The primary objective of communication planning and management is to see that the stakeholders are mobilized, aligned, and connected with the challenges and goals throughout the journey of change. Communication begins in the planning phase and should continue even after the end of the project, to keep the stakeholders connected with sustaining the change. A number of dimensions should be considered when planning a messaging approach. There are: direct, face-to-face communication, indirect communication, individual, mass communication, active communication, and passive communication. Communications in a project can be broken down into two types: ordinary communication and extraordinary communication. Communication is most effective when it is appropriate to the brain dominance style of its recipient. In spite of controversy among some scholars, for communication purposes, knowledge of brain dominance styles can help someone define the way a message should be encoded.
