ABSTRACT

The main focus of stakeholder engagement management is to reduce resistance and promote engagement in the change so that the strategic objectives that motivated the investment are achieved. The process for engaging stakeholders in the vision of the organization's future state begins with a clear and direct communication from the sponsor. Sponsorship is one of the most important elements for a successful change. The management of stakeholders' engagement begins in the planning phase; it is developed through a set of macro-activities that will be performed throughout the project until the change is institutionalized. Communication is an essential element to help in understanding the vision of the organization after the change, the purpose, what will change and how it will be changed. A good practice in individual and face-to-face communication is to ask for recommendations. People feel flattered and valued when someone asks their help.
