ABSTRACT

Environmental performance and green growth strategies must become part of broader economic and industrial policies, simply because economies and populations continue to grow, with accelerating global rates of production and consumption. Sustainable development goals aim at tackling and finding solutions to global risks and new technologies, new business models, and new regulations that could potentially build a future that is different and better than the present. The environmental, social, and economic values are the cornerstone of sustainable development and they go accordingly with the goals to attain sustainable engineering principles. Sustainable development must harmonize with institutions that support and facilitate a wide approach to effective, entrepreneurial, and judicious management, which can deliver the long-term success of modern society and the values it represents. A business approach that contributes to sustainable development by delivering economic, social, and environmental benefits for all stakeholders.
