ABSTRACT
This chapter is devoted to the consideration of all problems related to polymer technologies. Here you can find information regarding the methods of polymer synthesis and the formation of polymer films, as well as approaches to bulk and structure modification of polymers. The role of solvents, cross-linkers, initiators, and plasticizers in the formation of porous films, and polymer doping, polymer grafting, and plasma treatment in polymer functionalization are described. The role of polymer functionalization in the humidity-sensing effect is analyzed. Polymer-based nanocomposites and their application in humidity sensors are also considered. Features such as polymer-based micromachining, including a description of polyimide-based micromachining, can also be found in this chapter.
