ABSTRACT
This chapter shows results from an evaluation of introduction of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) for hydropower generators at Vattenfall. The implementation of RCM is referred to as the VVM RCM method. The commercial software BI-Cycle tool has been used for the VVK (Vattenfall Vattenkraft) RCM analysis. The study shows how the maintenance plans have changed after the introduction of RCM,for example, more preventive maintenance activities have been introduced due to high costs if a failure occurs. This chapter closes with a comparison of the three RCM approaches: the Moubray RCM, the RCAM, and the VVK RCM.
