ABSTRACT

A digital image in a two-dimensional discrete space is the sampling and quantization of a two-dimensional continuous space, being a projection of a picture of objects and background in three-dimensional space. A digital image is composed of two-dimensional array elements arranged in rows and columns. A grayscale image is a monochrome image that is made up of pixels in different shades of gray from black to white. The pixel value is a single number corresponding to the grayscale of the image at a particular location. A color image is formed by a combination of individual two-dimensional images. For example, in the red, green, and blue color system, any color can be created by a weighted combination of the three primary colors red, green, and blue. The cyan, magenta, and yellow color model is a subtractive color representation. It is typically used in color printing because cyan, magenta, and yellow are the primary colors of pigments.
