ABSTRACT
The thermodynamic theory of the glass transition has defined glass as a nonequilibrium system having a free energy excess with respect to metastable liquid. Obviously, glass in that very sense is also a nonequilibrium system with respect to any crystalline modification existing at the same pressure.
