ABSTRACT

There are three different kinds of one-dimensional lots:

A stream, stationary or moving, made of particulate material (e.g., ore, products, chemicals on a conveyor belt, slurries, or solids-in-gas suspensions in ducts, etc.)

A stream, stationary or moving, of liquid (e.g., water stream, river, liquid chemicals, etc.)

A stream, stationary or moving, made of a chronological set of discrete units (e.g., railroad cars, trucks, bags, jars, and also core samples from downhole drilling, etc.)
