On June 3, 2014, several officers of the Marshall Police Department converged on the Marshall City Park. Deterryon Tyrell Kelly had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Capital Murder. One detective previously noted Mr Kelly to be on Pope Street on the north side of the park, standing by a parked car near the volleyball court, wearing a black shirt and white shorts.
