ABSTRACT

I'd like to spend a pretty significant amount of time in this book talking to other more experienced game developers about their moves. Not everyone in this book completely left the games industry, went indie, flipped out, and moved across the country, or even had a negative experience. The one thing that binds these folks together is that they all decided it was time to leave a “traditional” development role—that is, one working on a large AAA team making a flagship-sized product—to something else, whether that be consulting, indie development, or leaving the games industry altogether. Hopefully, in their stories, you can find some hope and guidance for making your own move.
