ABSTRACT

A growing population and the aim for energy equity will almost unavoidably result in continued increase in global total energy demand. By 2050, the scenarios can be described depending on the availability of fossil fuels and the impact of climate change caused by the human lifestyle and greenhouse gases. Scientific efforts put forth towards the establishment of all useful and commonly known renewable energy resources such as energy storage (battery and supercapacitor), solar cell, fuel cell and hybrid energy technologies, are described in this book. The challenges, opportunities and prospects for carbon nanomaterials in these clean and sustainable energy systems were clearly analyzed in the previous chapters.
