ABSTRACT
Magnesium occurs in nature mainly in seawater and brines and in combination with other elements found in ores. Globally, resources for Mg could be described as virtually unlimited. These resources are identified in the chapter. For seawater and oceans, locations are given for magnesium sources along with their concentrations. Geological locations for magnesium reserves are cited for a number of countries worldwide.
