ABSTRACT

William Hanna (1910–2001) was born in New Mexico. In 1937, at MGM, he teamed with New Yorker Joseph Barbera (1911–2006) to form one of the greatest collaborations in Hollywood. First they directed the Tom and Jerry series of award-winning animated shorts. In 1957 they formed Hanna-Barbera Productions, for many years the largest animation studio in the business. They created famous shows like The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo, and earned 7 Oscars and 8 Emmy awards.
