ABSTRACT

William “Bud” Luckey (1934–2018) was an animator, designer, and voice actor. From Billings, Montana, he served in the Air Force in the Korean War, and used his G.I. benefits to attend animation classes at Chouinard and USC. He became a protégé of Art Babbitt and began working with him at Quartet Films doing commercials. He later relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where, among other clients, he formed a friendship with Peanuts-creator Charles Schulz, animating Charlie Brown for Dolly Madison cakes.
