ABSTRACT

The continuous rolling mill is a complex system and its working condition is characterised by a large number of parameters. The parameters of the rolling process in each separate stand of the mill are inter-linked through the strip being rolled. In the cold rolling thin sheet steel the energy and force parameters of the process are influenced mostly by the friction coefficient. However, the advantage of the method of reversed conversion is that it greatly improves the agreement between the calculated and experimental values of the energy and force parameters of the rolling process. The variation of the strips plate temperature in front of the stand in cold rolling has almost no effect on the temperature of the strip coiled on the drum of the coiler. The continuous cold rolling mill is a complicated electromechanical system where the main members are in constant interaction.
