ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the essence of the Performance Trilogy® leadership model and reemphasizes the key aspects of putting the model to work for leaders, whether it be at the personal, managerial, or executive level. Demonstrating concern for the well-being of others requires the attributes of a good coach. Good coaching takes place throughout the Performance Trilogy, making sure that key staff are properly aligned, motivated, trained, and rewarded. When developing a strategy, sufficient thought needs to be given to what the benefits will be, not only for leader, but also for those followers who took considerable risk in supporting him/her. Any form of disingenuous behavior will always diminish the trust level of the people leader works with and deal with. The secret to any successful enterprise is to balance all the needs and manage the conflicts that inevitably occur.
