ABSTRACT
The objective of this chapter is to present a general overview about Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and its different types. These different types have led to the development of effective means of locating geographic positions by presenting latitude and longitude coordinates. We will, at the end of this chapter, develop the application fields of GPS receivers to emphasize the highly accurate real-time positioning used for many different tasks.
