ABSTRACT
Task analysis emerged prominently during World War II as a set of new methods applicable to analyzing the functions performed by human-machine systems and has persisted as an integral part of the engineering process (Homan and Militello 2009). Task analysis is a generic term that refers to methods for identifying, describing, and modeling task data to inform and guide system design and validation.
