ABSTRACT

Operational Profile Testing refers to those software relia-

bility approaches, methods, techniques, and theories rely-

ing on an operational profile (OP) to represent the system’s

operational conditions as well as on software testing as the

basic technique to obtain the experimental data necessary

for the estimation of software reliability. OP is a quantita-

tive characterization of how a system will be used in the

field.[1] In general terms, an OP basically consists of the set

of all operations that a system is designed to perform and

the probabilities of their occurrence.
