ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will discuss intelligent water drop algorithm (IWDA or IWD)—a very successful algorithm in the eld of optimization and discrete problems based on scheduling. The most important feature is the concrete pseudo communication between agents and the mathematics that represents them. Though this algorithm lacks parameter variation operation, yet it is one of the few algorithms, which is applicable to a wide variety of problems, including both continuous and discrete problems.
