ABSTRACT

The information team should begin to install system hardware and software, including printers. Although every system installation is different, some basic tasks are usually found in the installation of the hardware and software for every system. While a template covering the usual basic tasks is provided, the discussion here is more of a general review of the tasks that the hardware and software vendors most probably have outlined in great detail in their installation manuals. It should be noted that the information team technical support people have already attended hardware and software technical support training and should be thoroughly familiar with the manuals and other instructions prior to beginning installation of the software. This discussion is not intended to supersede those manuals; rather, it is intended as a guide for the project manager and to aid in constructing the overall project plan.
