ABSTRACT
The first practical implementation of the concept underpinning a corporate memory facility (CMF), discussed in Chapter 10, took place with CAD and with computer aided manufacturing (CAM). Another notable application of CMF from about the same timeframe is computer aided software engineering (CASE). While today CMF is closely linked to management decisions and the tracking of transactions, it is important to note that its implementation capitalized on these previous experiences.
