ABSTRACT

The geometry of classical groups (such as symplectic groups, unitary groups, and orthogonal groups) over finite fields can be used to construct authentication codes. As examples, two schemes from the geometry of symplectic groups and one scheme from the geometry of unitary groups are presented in this chapter. For the convenience of readers, the fundamental knowledge about symplectic spaces, which is necessary for use in this chapter, is given in Section 8.1.
