The premise behind targeted therapy is to identify factors that make a cancer cell unique and
to take advantage of those properties. The upregulation of angiogenesis is one general
example of this idea, and the blockage of the tyrosine kinase component of angiogenesis
receptors is a very specific example of this theory in practice.
