ABSTRACT

Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) (Wille 1992, Ganter and Wille, 1999) is a theory of concept formation and conceptual classication founded in the 1980s by a research group in Darmstadt, Germany. FCA provides a model for analysis and formal representation of conceptual knowledge (Wille, 1992). It is based on mathematical order theory and particularly the theory of complete lattices. Therefore, before introducing FCA, we rst present some basic notions of these theories.
