ABSTRACT
Onchocerciasis or “river blindness” is the disease that develops during the course of an infection with
Onchocerca volvulus.
The infection and disease occur in large areas of tropical Africa, in parts of the Americas, and in a small focus in the Arabian Peninsula (WHO, 1995).
