ABSTRACT
The case, part of studying hospital intensive care units, appears very simple on
the surface.
A patient undergoing surgery needed to go to an intensive care unit when
the surgical procedure was complete. The surgical procedure was finished
before the intensive care unit bed was available, so the patient was taken first to the recovery room and transferred to the intensive care unit after a
few hours.
