ABSTRACT

The precision of radiographic measurements is least in the most immature, primarily cartilaginous foot.

Clinical outcomes do not correlate well to radiographic measurements. These limitations diminish the utility of radiographic measurements to accurately quantify the anatomic deformity. The most fundamental limitation of two-dimensional (2D) radiographic imaging is the inability to accurately represent the complex three-dimensional (3D) structure of the foot. Three-dimensional imaging by computed tomography (CT) has been used extensively for assessment of clubfoot, following treatment.
