ABSTRACT

The basic investigative outline of the methods presented here for evaluating and collecting evidence at explosion scenes is based on three sources. One is the Guide for Explosion and Bombing Scene Investigation (U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice, June 2000). This was the first peerreviewed, authoritative document written for the investigation of explosion and bombing scenes. Secondly, this chapter draws on the author’s more than 30 years of investigative experience and, third, on the work of many dedicated professionals who have offered their insights into the investigative processes.
