ABSTRACT

Case Studies: Collaborative Spaces and Team Performance

I. INTRODUCTION

A continuing trend in the workplace is the use of groups and teams in various forms to accomplish higher quality work in less time (Jones et al., 1993; Becker, 2004; Davenport, 2005). Although various designers and manufacturers have attempted to design collaborative work spaces to support this new organizational structure, there is little published quantitative research that compares the effectiveness of these new space forms on supporting this work.
