ABSTRACT
Because the gas cavity formed between the compressor housing (shell) and the compressor casing, for example, cannot be approached using the one-dimensional wave equation, a two-or three-dimensional wave equation is needed. Also, if we wish to study the acoustic field that is radiated from the compressor housing (shell), we need to approach it three dimensionally.
