ABSTRACT

Much has been written on the process of individualization and the principles of uniqueness. Tuthill and George, in their book Individualization: Principles and Procedures in Criminalistics, define and discuss uniqueness and individuality very capably and offer much discussion and background on that topic.1 Man-made objects will always have manufactured variations, and things that occur in nature will always have natural variations. Whether man-made or a product of nature, these differences, although very minor and microscopic in some instances, will always be present.
