ABSTRACT

Many people come to accept that empathy simply means to understand how another person is feeling, to understand his or her situation, and to understand how the person has been impacted as a result of your behavior. Although each of these characteristics helps to define empathy, some people have difficulty maintaining empathy. That is to say, they demonstrate some aspect of empathy, but only when convenient or useful to them in specific situations. Abusers have difficulty understanding the concepts of empathy. Abusive behavior as a rule demonstrates the lack of empathy.
