ABSTRACT

The discipline of genetics endeavors to understand the functions and effects of genes whereas the term genomics deals with the functions and effects of all the genes in the genome of organisms. The science of genomics aims to understand the entire genome using experimental approaches and applies to common conditions, such as cancer, infectious diseases (e.g., human immunode ciency), cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, and bipolar disorder. Multiple genes and environmental factors can impact the development of these diseases [1].
