ABSTRACT
A good sealant provides a durable barrier against whatever environment is being contained or excluded, such as water or fuel. The barrier requires good wetting of and bonding to the substrate and low permeability of the environment into the sealant. Depending on the application, other desirable properties could include corrosion inhibition, adhesion strength, and electrical or thermal conductivity.
